Today, Sam and I went out shopping and wound up over in urban outfitters where we found these amazing hats. We ended up being THOSE people, but it was way too much fun to stop.

You too can Have the Midas Touch

Metallics are definitely starting to make a comeback in a serious way. People are buying gold leggings and silver pumps to match their sparkly handbags. Why not take it to the next level though? Why not bling out your food too in the most amazing way. I'm not talking with fancy plates or golden forks and spoons but edible food spray.
This German company has made gold and silver food spray to make even the most drab of meals fantastic.
Tired of those apples? Grab a can of gold food spray and go to town to make that sandwich seem fancier.
Now everyone can feel luxurious and eat a golden apple but what about a silver pretzel? Impossible you say? Never... and to quote the new Alice and Wonderland "I think of at least 6 impossible things before breakfast."
This wonderful food product is available from this website.

Kanye West's Radio Interview

Recently Kanye West did another interview where he shot himself in the foot when he should have just stayed home and kept his mouth shut. He started the interview by saying he isn't just a genius but a dreamer as well. When it comes to his music and personal tastes he doesn't follow trends, but instead brings in his childhood and what he would have thought as a child to everything. This is probably the best part of the interview because he is pretty much saying how children are one of the best sources for creativity and that he tries to bring a childlike mind to everything.

Of course Kanye doesn't end with his statement about children he has to continue on to what I think is the weirdest and worst part of the interview. He puts himself on the same level as the guy who stood in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square in 1989. Saying he is constantly under fire from the media and everyone else. He even calls it the "social media tank" to really try to drive the imagery home with people.

In this Q&A he then proceeded to make several remarks involving Michael Jackson even one where he compared M.J. to Jesus Christ. "Jesus died for our sins... Michael died for the sins of our media." He goes on to say that if Michael Jackson had a twitter he would explain himself for the different things he did that the media saw as wrong. The big one Kanye points out is the baby over the ledge.

Kaney goes on to say he feels like he has to be the voice for people like Michael Jackson, Alexander McQueen, people who commit suicide. He claims he knows what they went through on an intimate level because he too has been hurt by people, felt suicidal and a myriad of other emotions. I've felt things too on a deep emotional level but I would never ever think to try and explain the pain someone else is going through based on my own experiences. It doesn't take a genius to understand that people have different life experiences and see things through their own eyes.

Kanye West it seems likes to take credit for anything and everything he can. He says how his songs like College Dropout have completely changed the face of every rap song that has come out after their release. He also hints that because he interrupted Taylor Swift at the awards ceremony she was made into a bigger sensation. Maybe she should send him a fruit basket and a card reading "Thanks Kanye, without you I would never have been on the cover of magazines or sold so many albums, Taylor" or maybe she is a legit musician and doesn't need someone else taking credit away from her.

Eventually he makes some remark about the life and murder of Emmett Till. He of course gets the story wrong saying Emmett was dating a white girl and got killed because he whistled at her. Only part of that is correct. Emmett was visiting family in Mississippi and was apparently seen talking to a white woman in public and rumor has it he whistled at her later on so some idiots beat him to death. His mother had an open casket ceremony to show the world what was done to her son. I listened to the interview a few times and I'm still a little confused as to why he brought this one up, but I think most of what Kanye West says makes no sense.

Kanye also in this interview claimed his songs were just like paintings because they are individual works of art and a large number of man hours goes into them. I wonder if he considers himself to be the Michelangelo of musicians and his songs are like the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Where is Kanye West going to end with his self comparison?

He went on to say our world lacks taste and that to have taste people are labeled gay or less of a man. He considers himself a "crusader of opening people's minds" and thinks that taste has been "thrown into the shallow box." Through his actions and music he is trying to bring people out of the dark and bring back the appretiation for black and white movies, opening the door for women, and putting an effort into the way you look and dress.

He really does try to put the weight of the world on his shoulders. Kanye wants to explain the things that people can't because they died or killed themselves. He wants to bring everyone together through his music. Kanye claims he says things that no one else would and allows himself to be put under fire for the benefit of everyone (almost like a Jesus figure?), and he wants to bring back the class of years past. All I can say is good luck and maybe try to take your head out of your ass first.

Erin' Guide to Dating: Helpful Advice & Rules

As you begin to read this I'm sure you'll start thinking to yourself a number of things:
  1. Why should I listen to her?
  2. What makes her such an expert on dating?
  3. Why does she think her advice is better than anyone of my friend's advice?
  4. How can I contact her for a date?
  5. Does she have any help for online dating?
Yes, I am single. However, I don't think this should discredit the following advice on dating I'm going to share with whoever happens to come across this blog. I'm an optimistic individual who doesn't think anyone should rely on attaching their happiness to another human through a serious relationship.

One of my theories relating to this subject matter is if you can't stand to be alone with yourself for more than 10 minutes then how do you expect someone else to want to. Being single for me is a personal choice. Everyday, I'm learning more about myself and becoming a more solid and independent individual. I feel that in turn this can only strengthen any relationship I chose to enter in the future.

I do still go out on dates with guys who happen my way, and maybe eventually one of them will make a good partner in crime. Who knows it could be one of the guys I'm currently seeing or someone in the future. I try to never close my mind to the possibilities of anyone I've met or will meet.

I think that's enough of a ramble about my personal life and now it's time to get down to business. Please, remember to take any advice you get from me or any of your friends, family, or another complete stranger with a grain of salt. You know your own life better than anyone else and you know deep down what is best for you. No one else can tell you how to live your life, but they can try to see things from an outsiders view point.

One of the most important rules to remember when dating a guy is that seeing each other naked WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING! Being naked is something that despite what some people may think is one of the most vulnerable positions to be in. You no longer have your clothes to hide behind and cover the things about yourself you don't like or find less than satisfactory. When you are naked in front of someone else you are putting yourself out there to be judged, scrutinized, praised, and appreciated. Whether or not you are aware of it you yourself are doing this right back.

SOMETHINGS TO TRY AND AVOID DOING WHILE DATING SOMEONE
  • DON'T text back right away or too much. You don't want to seem too desperate.
  • DON'T date someone who isn't over their ex. No one wants to be the rebound.
  • DON'T date a coworker. This can make for a messy working environment.
  • DON'T date a stripper.
  • DON'T date close family members of an ex. Siblings and parents are completely off limits.
  • DON'T sleep with them too early. You want to keep some mystery about yourself and something to keep them coming back for more.
  • DON'T be overly available.
  • DON'T forget your friends.  They are your support and without them when things go bad you'll be completely lost.
  • DON'T date your exes best friends.
  • DON'T talk about your exes. Especially their prowess in bed.
  • DON'T assume anything. Assuming makes an ass out of you and me.
  • DON'T settle for anything less than what you want/deserve.
  • DON'T focus on finding the one. Try having fun instead.
  • DON'T be overly critical.
  • DON'T be misleading. If you aren't interested just say so.
  • DON'T be late for a date. It's just rude.
  • DON'T check out other people while on a date. Also rude.
  • DON'T lie. Even if the truth is lame it could haunt you later.
  • DON'T constantly text or check your phone on a date. Give the person you are with you undivided attention.
  • DON'T get drunk. Especially on the first few dates.
  • DON'T date a married person. It always ends tragically for those involved.
  • DON'T date a cheater. Most likely they will cheat on you too.
_____________________________________________________

SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU ON WITH YOUR DATES
  • DO remember to give someone time to breathe/think after a breakup.
  • DO try to always look your best.
  • DO keep some mystery about yourself.
  • DO take some girl/guy time apart every so often and remember he/she needs their space too.
  • DO keep it to yourself early on if you want kids.
  • DO try to hold in farts or burps for the first few dates. If you are a woman you don't need to show that you can do all the same things as a man.
  • DO try to date someone who is goal oriented and has a drive to succeed.
  • DO avoid people who have overly controlling parents. They'll never give you any peace.
  • DO try to remember to compliment your date.
  • DO ask questions and show your interested in your date.
  • DO date people you like and are attracted to and not someone your friends are pushing you towards.
 _____________________________________________________

SOME FURTHER ADVICE TO HELP YOU ON YOUR WAY
  • If your date seems possessive or incredibly insecure RUN!!!
  • Living at home isn't a bad thing unless they're 30 something.
  • If someone can't leave their phone alone with you while they do something in another room like take a shower they might have something to hide.

Getting Ready for a Nap with these Two Guys

I might have had to bribe Douglas to come up the stairs (In turn this might have meant bribery treats for Berkeley) BUT the three of us did take a nap together.
I ended up being middle spoon to the best two cuddlers this side of the Mississippi.
