Another Reason to Learn to Knit

Some people might think knowing how to knit is so passe but I think it would be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. There are so many amazing things you can make with just some knitting needles and yarn. The possibilities are practically endless. In the past few years a new trend has sprung up called "yarn bombing" and it makes my insides scream out to learn how to knit. This just looks amazing. The pictures below were found using a simple Google search for yarn bombing.

I've also seen it once or twice around RVA. It just looks super awesome!!!

Fun New Twist on an Old Classic

Recently I've been playing a fair amount of Organ Trail. If any of you who might actually be reading this remember the old classic Oregon Trail then kudos to you!!! I remember playing that and Dino Tycoon in elementary school on one of the precious few computers we had in the classroom. These games made sharing with other incredibly hard for me. I still remember hating crossing the rivers when my wagon would overturn because I was an idiot and decided to just ford the river. A Productive Day

Today has been so much better than yesterday. I snuggled with my dogs while the rents went to church, and eventually got up and had eggs and sausage for breakfast. So yummy. Eventually we went out to eat and did some shopping. I picked out a few fans for the upstairs and began to look at paint colors for the main room and contemplated repainting the bathroom. I also made a new necklace and started work on another one. Got in a few good movies including Independence Day (which I absolutely love) and Goodfellas. Life is looking up even though today it poured down rain.

The Day After

I'm not feeling super hot right now after going out drinking so I'm going to keep this post short. I'm never drinking again. It's not because I'm super hungover or anything, but I feel like ass all over. Today is going to be an unproductive waste spent in bed recovering and hiding from the world. I go a little too overboard when I drink with some people it seems so no more. I've done this cold turkey thing once before and I'll do it again... starting NOW.

Errands and a Drug Test

This afternoon I ran a few errands including selling some clothes to Plato's Closet, taking a drug test for my new job, grabbing my paycheck from work, and putting my check and the money I got from Plato's Closet in the bank. I passed my drug test and filled out the paperwork for Elephant Insurance Services to run a background check on me. I'm also really proud of myself because I've been actually paying off my credit card with some incredible speed instead of spending even more money. Let's hope I can keep this up and start to actually save a little money once I get this second job.

If I Won the Lottery

I was thinking the other day what if I won the lottery... what would I do with all that money?

Would I spend it or save it? Give it to charity or be selfish? Help my friends out?

I came up with this scenario...

First I would put it in a bank and start gaining interest on it... make that money work FOR me and all that fun stuff. After that I might do a few things like travel the world and pay off my student loans (probably in that order). I'd buy a better car (one that doesn't drink gas like it's going out of style) and maybe a nice place to live downtown, but not too nice. If not downtown I'd look into moving somewhere new. Maybe start over somewhere and have the time of my life living off the interest and renting out properties. I would probably still keep a job just for extra spending money and because you never know what the future holds for you. I'd also still want to complete school and get another degree or two so I could fulfill my dreams.

I also would like to think I'd help out my friends and do good deeds for strangers. It's hard to say I'd donate to a charity, because there are so many and they all need so much. I think if my friends were ever doing those walk or runs for a charity I would donate to them. Support both my friends and a charity with one throw. I'd also treat my parents to a nice European vacation or something for all the wonderful things they've done for me. I'd of course do something nice for my brother because I can't leave him out.... even if he is a shit to me at times. I still love and respect him.

I would try not to blow through all my money so I'd have something for the future, but I also wouldn't horde it all. I'd try to make smart and fun decisions with it and not act like it would never run out. I don't need fancy designer shit to make me happy, but traveling the world would DEFINITELY have to happen.

Awesome News

I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you with no idea what job I'm talking about I got a part time at Elephant Auto Insurance as a Document Processor... I'm really excited. I'll be starting March 21, 2011 after I get back from HHI/Savannah for spring break with my brother, Morgan.

Now it's time for Kelsey and I to go out and celebrate with some Sonic's limeades.

I Love FP

  I am so addicted to looking at Free People's clothing. I really wish I could afford it. The last piece (crochet bathing suit) I am especially hot for. I have no doubt in my mind it will look nowhere near as hot on me as it does on the model, but still I would love to rock that this summer. I just need to get one of those dang gym memberships and start working out so I'll have a body worth rocking out a sexy bathing suit.
